My ceramic artwork is both functional and non-functional objects such as raku. My ceramic work is defined by my love of natural objects, forms and textures. I enjoy the diversity of styles, both functional through traditional firing and non-functional objects through the process of raku. I love the process of raku firing and the serendipitous results. My current raku work explores thrown vessels with decorative tops, feet and handles and organic forms.

Titled Sunny Thoughts. This piece was made very intuitively. I like to let my mood and the clay direct where I go with a piece. A bit of myself in a moment in time is left in each piece I make.

My name is Victoria. I was born and raised in Michigan, with art being the constant love of my life. I grew up in a large family of artists, and creative thoughts were normal conversation topics over meals. Along with this, I spent endless hours of play and wonder outdoors. This upbringing is what shapes my art today. I am deeply inspired from both the exceptional and the mundane moments of our human experience, emotionally and visually, and I hope to bring the wonder of life into my art.
