Laura Garberick is a potter from Battle Creek, MI.  She began hand building mid range and high fired pottery after an illness that changed her life.  Although she attended a couple of classes at her local art center, she is largely self taught and has been making pottery from home for 5 years.  Laura finds inspiration from nature, ancient cultures, dreams, machinery, and tattoos.  Her favorite part of the making is in surface decoration.  She is currently working on some wood fired pieces.

Ghosh, Jasho

I have just started learning ceramics.  I hope I go on to make functional pottery that is good enough for everyone's daily use.

August Emerson Davis Hagedorn, a dedicated ceramic fine artist and art historian working out of Aquinas College, creates pottery that transcends functionality, telling visual narratives of oddities and curiosities (Wunderkammer). Their unique fusion of traditional and contemporary techniques has garnered attention. August seeks to contribute to the Guild by sharing knowledge and fostering a deeper appreciation for the curious.

My work is inspired by family and conversation around the table. So much of life is spent in a hurry, but here at the table time stands still. My intent is to evoke longings for home and create memories around shared meals.

Twin passions, art and gardening, have lead me to create a translation of nature into wearable art.

Life long interests in painting, drawing, pottery and fine china have inspired me to create ornamental pieces, and wearable sculptures in porcelain combining my interests in the decorative arts, painting and working with clay.

My goal is to create things that make people smile, to enable them to see the beauty all around  to uplift the spirit with beauty or cheerful humor.  Creating wearable sculptures in porcelain using many themes of nature and the changing seasons gives me great joy.

My work is a collection of unique and beautiful one of a kind pins, pendants, necklaces and buttons and limited edition series in porcelain and stoneware. The pieces are hand formed and finished with a combination of under glazes and over glazes with a final application of 14K gold details.  Most pieces are fired three or four times in the kiln.
