WMPG CLAY WORKSHOP

WMPG is excited and privileged to host nationally known potter and clay artist Catherine "Cat"

Stasevich as our workshop presenter for 2017.

 

Cat earned her BFA in Ceramics at Western Michigan University and her MFA in Ceramics at

East Carolina University in Greenville North Carolina. She was graduate teaching assistant at

East Carolina and this year presented a workshop at Eureka Springs School of Art, Eureka

Springs, Arkansas, entitled Painting Life in Clay.

 

Cat has exhibited her work in many shows and various galleries across Michigan and out of

state, winning several awards and grants. In this workshop she will be focusing on dealing with

the vessel as canvas and what you can do with it; layering of slips, glazes and commercial

products, sgraffito, stamping and carving, both in greenware and bisque state.

 

Morning coffee, tea, juice, and light breakfast pastries provided. Lunch not provided, but

Calvin has a restaurant available within walking distance of the Spoelhof building on campus.

Space is limited for this workshop, so sign up early to guarantee your participation. Sign up

begins on January 11th.
